Getting to GLS from Berlin airports:
A taxi ride costs Euro 20 - 25, but you can easily get to GLS by public transport as well:
- Airport Tegel TXL:
Take the Jet Express Bus TXL till Alexanderplatz (daily shuttle service between 6.00 and 23.00, leaving every 15 or 20 minutes),
from Alexanderplatz take metro line U 8, only 2 stops till Rosenthaler Platz - Airport Schoenefeld SFX:
Take the Airport Express train till Alexanderplatz (leaving every 30 minutes),
from Alexanderplatz take metro line U 8, only 1 stop till Rosenthaler Platz - Airport Tempelhof THF:
Take metro line U 7 till Hermannplatz (direction Rudow),
at Hermannplatz change into metro line U 8 and get off at Rosenthaler Platz
If you arrive by train:
Very simple, no matter at which Berlin station you get off, whether Bahnhof Zoo, Hauptbahnhof or Ostbahnhof -
change into any city train (= S-Bahn) going to Alexanderplatz,
from Alexanderplatz take metro line U 8, only 2 stops till Rosenthaler Platz
If you come by car:
If you use a navigation system, type in Kastanienallee 82, 10435 Berlin (Prenzlauer Berg)
Without a navigation system:
- Drive into Berlin and follow signs saying MITTE, till you can see the TV tower on ALEXANDERPLATZ.
- Go towards the TV tower and once you get there, turn into KARL LIEBKNECHT STR. (= eastern prolongation of the big boulevard UNTER DEN LINDEN)
- Drive north on KARL LIEBKNECHT STR., which changes its name to Prenzlauer Allee - keep going till you get to the junction with DANZIGER STR.
- Turn left into DANZIGER STR.
- After ca. 700 m you reach a big crossroad with a metro stration up above the street: Eberswaldr Str. .
- Turn left here into KASTANIENALLEE.
- You´ll see GLS after about 300 m on your left hand side.
