More about sightseeing in Berlin
The GLS neighbourhood is called Prenzlauer Berg, which — after World War II — became part of East Berlin. Once home to artists and intellectuals, it has grown into one of the city’s most fashionable districts since the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989.
The school is on Kastanienallee 82, nicknamed the “Casting Alley” for its frequent fashion and film shoots. Step outside the school, and you’ll find over 40 bars, cafés and designer shops right on your doorstep.
GLS puts you in the heart of Berlin’s vibrant arts scene. Right next door is Dock 11, a dance and performance venue, and the arthouse cinema Lichtblick is just two doors away.
A 20-minute walk brings you to the iconic Volksbühne Theater, famous for its cutting-edge performances.
If you book accommodation through GLS, plan to arrive on Sunday and leave on Saturday. Extra nights are available on request.
