GLS Berlin, a five-time STAR SCHOOL GERMANY award winner, is led by a dynamic mother-daughter trio. Founded in 1983 as a one-woman show, it is now the only language school in Germany with two on-campus boutique hotels - right in the heart of Berlin.
Every year, more than 5,000 students from 80+ countries join our German courses for adults and teenagers. At GLS, “Where interesting people meet” is more than a motto; it’s a promise. We don’t just teach German - we create a space for you to connect and build friendships that transcend borders.

At GLS, 85% of our students are individuals from around the world — while 15% are professionals from diplomatic missions, NGOs, universities, and global companies such as Rolls-Royce, Fendi, and Amnesty International.

We typically welcome 250–400 students at the GLS Campus Berlin each month, with summer numbers reaching up to 500.

For the second consecutive year, GLS has received the Excellence Award from LanguageCourse.Net, a global platform that helps students find high-quality language courses. The award recognizes outstanding student satisfaction and is based on more than 28,000 student reviews.
In 2025, GLS was named Germany’s top language school by the UED (the Association of International Educational Counsellors in Turkey) - marking the 4th time GLS has received this award.
In 2019, GLS was the only German school ranked among the world’s top 10 language schools by the Tokyo-based Ryugaku Journal, Japan’s leading study-abroad magazine.
