The Good & the Bad - what did you like best? What least?
The original teachers were really good. The substitutes were not so good. The teachers were engaged and cared a lot and recommended me to be moved up a few weeks since I did not fit with the rest of the group. If I had stayed longer I would have asked to be moved up again. Some of the teachers need to be more strict with the Japanese students and really make them talk though.
I stayed both at campus (3 weeks) and at Schwedter str. (3 weeks). The accomodation at campus was great. It was clean, fresch and thought through decorations in the appartment.
At Schwedter Str. the appartment (nr 71) was run down. It wasn't really clean when I got there and we had to complain after a week since the cleaner did not come on Saturday. I had asked for help with the blinds (since the thing to turn the blinds was missing and the sun came right in on the bed), and for them to cleanse the drain in the shower and to screw the front on one of the drawers but they never did it. I myself made sure the blinds and the drawer was fixed. The drain was never cleansed when i was there. The stuff in the kitchen is really old and filthy. Schwedter Str. was a dissapointment after Campus. And above all, that you charge a single fee for what is in fact a shared triple is not ok.
Your recommendations for other students
I would recommend GLS to my friends. The school was professional and friendly. It might not be an ideal school for a short period of time, 1-2 weeks, since you are placed in a continuing class. The location of the school is great, in the cosy Prenzlauer Berg part of Berlin!
I can recommend the campus accomodation but not the one at Schwedter Str.
