The Good & the Bad - what did you like best? What least?
My experience at GLS was entirely positive in every respect. I was really pleasantly surprised with the quality, facilities and space of the accommodation on campus (for example, by contrast with other schools I've stayed at where you have a single bedroom and a loo, whereas here there was a fully equipped kitchen and mini-living room too). The easy access to and good pricing at the cafe made it easy to grab coffee/a quick snack between classes. The reception staff were extremely friendly and helpful and I was quickly made to feel welcome, being given a brief tour on arrival prior to the full one the following morning. As I was here to cram like crazy before an exam, I can't unfortunately comment on any after-class activities as I was studying all the time, hence no marks (not indicative of poor quality). The quality of tuition was excellent with enthusiastic and supportive teaching staff and appropriate exercises for the level and topic. I was particularly impressed by and indebted to my private tutor (doing the Combined Course of 30 hours/week) who went out of her way to help me with exam prep in areas of difficulty and increasing my DDR subject knowledge. I wholeheartedly recommend GLS.
Your recommendations for other students
I really appreciated the apartment on campus with the proximity to classrooms and recommend opting for one if within your budget. As I was cramming 24/7, I wanted to be close to the campus (rather than the main tourist sights, etc., which are pretty close and easy to reach with public transport anyway) so this was perfect for me. I've read other reviews expressing dissatisfaction with the WiFi, but this wasn't an issue for me - I had fast enough quality access to run Netflix during study breaks and use it without issue the rest of the time.
