Meet the GLS High School Team in Berlin
GLS was founded in 1983 by Berlin entrepreneur Barbara Jaeschke (pictured above), who now runs the company with her daughters, Dr. Reemda and Dr. Verena Jaeschke.

Yoko Iwen

Born and raised in Berlin, she studied Art History and Spanish at Humboldt University. She completed an exchange year in Uruguay and an internship in Buenos Aires. She speaks German, Spanish, and English fluently.

Anna Schindler

Anna grew up in Swakopmund, Namibia, and moved to Bremen, Germany, at the age of 16 to complete her Abitur. She earned a degree in International Tourism Management in Bremen, with six-month study exchanges in the Netherlands and Chile. In 2020, she relocated to Berlin to pursue a Master’s degree in Sustainable Tourism Management. Anna is fluent in German, English, Afrikaans, and has conversational skills in Spanish.

Jana Böhner

Jana is originally from Thuringia, Germany. After completing her studies in Hospitality in Mainz, she worked in the field for five years. She then pursued Nutritional Science at Münster University of Applied Sciences. Additionally, Jana completed training as a German-as-a-foreign-language teacher. She speaks German, English, and Portuguese.

Sonja Golenia

Sonja is originally from Munich and studied English Linguistics at Ludwig-Maximilian University. She has lived abroad in Calgary, Canada, and gained experience in diverse fields such as sales, property management, and event management. Sonja speaks German, English, and Polish.

Alisa Aldinger

She grew up in Saarland, Germany. After graduating from school, she completed a one-year overseas voluntary service program in Mexico. She then earned a degree in Cultural Studies from the University of Freiburg and spent six months in South Africa for a research project. She speaks German, Spanish, English, and Russian, with basic knowledge of Portuguese and French.
